MSW Social Work Contract

Congratulations on your acceptance to the MSW Advance Standing program for Fall 2009

The MSW Contract below is required of all admitted students.  By completing and submitting the contract below, you are confirming your acceptance and intention to enroll for the Fall 2009 session.  The completed contract is due by Friday, May 15, 2009.  If we have not received your contract by that date, we will assume that your plans have changed and your acceptance will be withdrawn.

As a MSW student at Texas State School of Social Work, I agree to the terms of the Social Work contract below.

I understand that this document must be electronically signed and dated, and must be included in my student folder in order for me to progress as a student in Texas State School of Social Work.

1. I shall adhere to the social work code of ethics (as articulated by the National Assocation of Social Workers and as codified by the Texas State Board of Social Workers Examiners).

2. I shall adhere to the Honor Code of Texas State University-San Marcos.

3. I shall develop professionally through:  a) regularly and carefully assessing my own academic and professional aptitude and performance, and b) carefully attending to faculty guidance about my academic and professional aptitude and performance.

4. I give my faculty advisor and instructors permission to discuss my progress in the School of Social Work with the BSW or MSW Director and the social work faculty.

5. I understand that, although I am admitted as a social work student, if my professional development is deemed unsatisfactory by the social work faculty, the School of Social Work has the right and responsibility to terminate my status as a social work student.

6. I understand that the social work faculty will provide instruction to help me achieve academic learning, and will offer advisement to help me develop as a professional.
