BSW Degree Program

Undergraduate Studies in Social Work

Our field instructors and our alums say that Texas State BSW students get excellent education here. Texas State's BSW degree program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and its graduates are eligible for State licensure as Social Workers.

The BSW degree is designed to prepare students for beginning professional social work practice in such varied settings as Child Welfare, Corrections, Medical, Mental Health, Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation, Industry and Public Assistance.

The School offers the Bachelor of Social Work degree with a major in Social Work to students who wish to prepare themselves for entry-level social work practice or for admission to a graduate program of social work. Social Work students must maintain high scholastic standards. They must also develop the capacity to work with people from all walks of life and be sensitive toward all people and the many problems they face.
