The course meets five days a week for 3-1/2 hours for both Summer I and II. Students learn oral skills, Mexican pronunciation, and vocabulary germane to social work practice. Graduates consistently report that this unique opportunity is an extremely valuable experience.

To apply for Spanish for Social Work (Spanish Language Institute), students must first complete a brief application form (available early in the spring semester from the Social Work office) and attach either an official current
Acceptance
Students are accepted into the Institute based on multiple criteria: overall GPA, Social Work GPA, major status, and expected graduation date. The School posts an acceptance and waiting list outside the Social Work office in mid-March. Students who are accepted must notify the School if they intend to enroll for that summer by the indicated due date. Students on the waiting list are moved into available slots. Remaining students on the waiting list have first priority for the next summer’s class.
