School of Social Work and San Marcos CISD Partnership

The School of Social Work at Texas State University and the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District (SMCISD) work together to enhance student success while addressing existing mental health needs.

Faculty in the School of Social Work (Angela R. Ausbrooks, PhD, LMSW, KeriAnne Moon, DSW, LCSW, Erica Nason, PhD, and Raphael Travis Jr., DrPH, LCSW) have entered into a program- and research-focused collaboration with the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District (SMCISD) under the auspices of Ms. Monica Ruiz-Mills, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning, and Assessments. This collaboration will consist of: 1) trainings and workshops for SMCISD Administrators, Faculty, Staff, and Students; 2) development of district-wide mental health and crisis plans; and 3) research-based evaluations of trainings/workshops and student outcomes.
