Dr. Hyunwoo Yoon joined the Texas State University, School of Social Work in 2016. He completed his master’s degrees in Social Work and Public Health at the University of South Carolina and a PhD in Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Yoon was a fellow of the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Program funded by Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Minority Fellowship Program and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Dr. Yoon has past work experience in program management of mental health and social services programs addressing such issues as alcohol/substance use, financial stability/asset development, and crime-victim assistance. His research interest includes gerontology; minority aging; health disparities; mental health service utilization; technology-based educational intervention; advanced statistical methodologies (e.g., HLM, SEM and longitudinal data analysis).
