Ms. Kymberly Owens, LCSW
Ms. Kymberly Owens, LCSW, joined Texas State University, School of Social Work as a lecturer in 2019. Ms. Owens earned her MSW from Walla Walla University and her BSW from the University of Montana. Ms. Owens most recently served as the director of the BSW program at Colorado Mesa University. She was hired by CMU in 2012 to build the new BSW program and take it through the three-year CSWE accreditation process. She also taught at Utah State University, Colorado Christian University, and Colorado Northwestern Community College. Prior to her academic appointments, Ms. Owens worked for 20 years in a variety of social work settings including Head Start, Mental Health, Hospice, and as the executive director of a large non-profit agency. Her professional interests include human trafficking, spirituality, mental health, and end-of-life care.
