Dr. Mark Trahan, LCSW
Dr. Mark Trahan, LCSW, joined Texas State University in 2015. Dr. Trahan hold degrees from the University of Houston (MSW and PhD) and the University of Texas at Austin (BA). Prior to his academic appointment, Dr. Trahan provided social work services with intimate partnerships, addiction, adolescents, and trauma. Dr. Trahan’s research interests include fathering engagement and the use of technology, specifically virtual reality/augmented reality to enhance paternal and social self-efficacy. Furthermore, his clinical and research background provide expertise in evaluation of clinical interventions with military, incarcerated, and low-income fathers. Dr. Trahan teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in social work direct practice, including chemical dependency, and individual, couples, family, and group interventions.
